Blackberries (original painting)

$300.00

Original painting inspired by the sweet first days of summer. Painting size is 5x7”, total size in frame is 12x14”.

about the painting

The painting is on River BFK cotton rag paper. Materials include ink as well as hand made watercolors from Case for Making, a small independent shop in San Francisco. This painting includes fluorescent paints, which are not light fast, causing the appearance of the painting to change over time.

about the framing

The frame was built by hand by myself and my brother from Alder and finished with linseed oil. The matting and framing were all done by me, in my living room, with archival materials. I used UV filtering, glare resistant plexi for its durability, light weight, and to protect the fluorescent parts of the painting for as long as possible. If you choose to have the painting reframed in the future I encourage you to use UV filtering glass or plexi.

caring for your painting

All work will change over time, but fluorescent paints are especially prone to fading or changing color. For the longevity of the work I recommend hanging it out of direct sunlight. For hanging the work use hardware that is able to handle the weight of painting.
